George Panagopoulos, Investment Strategist at National Bank of Greece and President, CFA Society Greece

George Panagopoulos, CFA, has served as President of CFA Society Greece since July 2025, following his appointment to the Board of Directors in 2021. In this capacity, he actively champions the CFA Institute’s core values—ethics, professionalism, and market integrity—and has played a key role in initiatives that strengthen the Society’s presence within the Greek investment community, deepen relationships with institutional stakeholders, and deliver high-quality educational programs to members, candidates, and the broader market. On the professional front, George has been with the National Bank of Greece for more than 17 years, holding roles across Wealth Management, Credit Analysis, and Investor Relations. Since March 2024, he has been part of the Bank’s Investment Strategy team, contributing to market research, macro analysis, and strategic investment insights. His broad professional experience has equipped him with a holistic understanding of the financial industry. George holds a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Management & Technology from the University of Piraeus and a Master of Science in Finance & Banking for Executives from the Athens University of Economics and Business. He earned his CFA charter in 2018.
