John Gidman, President of Association of Institutional Investors, COO Loomis, Sayles & Co., CEO of NIM-os

John Gidman is chief operating officer of Loomis, Sayles & Company and chief executive officer of NIM-os LLC, a subsidiary of Loomis Sayles that provides technology, operating, and other services to Loomis, Sayles & Company, Natixis Investment Managers, various affiliates, and select clients. John joined Loomis Sayles in 2000 and is a member of the firm’s Board of Directors and management committee and chairs the operating committee. He serves on the firm’s new product, trading oversight, and compliance, risk, and internal control committees, and is a member of the risk management committee that oversees credit, market, liquidity, compliance, legal, regulatory, valuation, financial, operational and reputational risk management. John oversees the design, development, and application of Loomis Sayles technology related intellectual property portfolio. John has 34 years of investment industry experience and previously held executive leadership positions with Evergreen Investments, State Street Corporation and Fidelity Investments. Earlier in his career, John worked on the design and development US DOD’s cyber command, DARPANET, and world-wide military command and control system, among other projects, for a variety of federal agencies and/or their partners. Active in several industry efforts, he is a long-time member of the joint market calendar and emergency management committee, responsible for coordinating the opening and closing of the global bond markets. He is currently president and a director of the Association of Institutional INVESTORS, and is a former director of DTCC Deriv/SERV, the Warehouse Trust Company, the Global Trade Repository, the Securities Industry Financial Markets Association where he was treasurer, the Bond Market Association where he was treasurer, and the Massachusetts Council on Economic Education where he was vice-chair. He was a founder of the ANSI X3J16 C++ standards committee and a long-time member of the ANSI X3J11 C standards committee. He is also a former trustee of the INLY School. John earned a BA from the University of Connecticut and is a former commissioned officer in the United States Army Corps of Engineers.
