Elena Vakali, Senior Managing Director, Head of Portfolio Management – Europe, Hines

Elena Vakali heads up the European Portfolio Management team at Hines and is responsible for investment execution and operations of all commingled real estate funds and separate account mandates in Europe, currently managing €14 billion of assets across property sectors and risk/returns profiles. Prior to this position, she was part of the Hines European fund management team overseeing strategy, investment and operations of several pan European investment vehicles. Elena joined Hines in 2013. Before that, she held fund and asset management roles at AXA Real Estate and J.P. Morgan Asset management in London. Elena started her career as a junior auditor at Ernst & Young in Athens. Elena is a member of the Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors and holds a BSc in Finance and Banking from the School of Finance and Statistics, University of Piraeus, Greece and an MSc Real Estate Investment and Finance from the Henley Business School, University of Reading, UK.
