Dr Venetia Koussia, Director General, Council on Competitiveness of Greece
Dr. Koussia, serves as the Director General of the Council on Competitiveness of Greece since 2018. During her longstanding career, she has acquired senior management positions in companies of various sectors from banking to manufacturing and human resources. Despite the prevailing highly volatile market conditions, she was leading them all successfully thanks to focusing on designing and implementing socially responsible growth strategies.
Through her role as an elected member of the Board of various prestigious professional organizations such as the AmCham, Dr. Koussia has participated in the development and implementation of initiatives aiming to improve the competitiveness landscape of Greece.
As the founder of VenetiaKoussia.net, she acts as a solution focused trusted advisor to Boards relating to People, Processes and Partnerships since 2016.
Advocate of lifelong learning and on top of numerous executive courses from top institutes such as INSEAD, Dr. Koussia obtained the Financial Times Diploma for Non-Executive Directors (NED). She is a founding member of NED Club in Greece.
She holds a Ph.D. in Corporate Strategic Planning for Banking Services and an M. Phil. in Agricultural Marketing and Market Research, both from the University of Newcastle Upon Tyne, United Kingdom. Her first degree (B.Sc.) is in Business Administration from the American College of Greece.
