Orestis Chontoulidis is a Partner within EY’s Financial Services & Risk Management practice, based in Athens, Greece. Orestis has 17 years of experience, providing consulting services mainly to the financial sector on a range of issues, including risk management, valuation solutions, prudential supervision and regulatory compliance. During the last four years, he has been leading projects that involve support to banking sector clients in the integration of ESG risks and the design and operationalization of sustainable finance frameworks. More specifically, Orestis has supported systemic banks in Greece and abroad in performing analyses and self-assessments of their current state versus applicable supervisory expectations around ESG risks integration, in developing action plans and roadmaps, in developing sustainable finance frameworks and policies, in specifying ESG criteria within the loan origination process, in designing and implementing frameworks for the monitoring of ESG indicators, the incorporation of ESG factors into their risk taxonomy and risk appetite, as well as in the development of methodologies for the quantification of ESG risks and for stress testing. He is an economist, he holds a MSc in Financial Risk Management from the ICMA Centre, University of Reading, UK, and he is a certified the Professional Risk Manager (PRM).
