Katerina Stefanidou, Partner in Financial Services, Grant Thornton
Katerina Stefanidou is a Partner in Financial Services department in Grant Thornton Greece. She is a Certified Public Accountant, specializing in the banking sector and brings more than 10 years of experience. During the course of her career, Katerina has developed specific expertise by providing assurance and advisory services related to Corporate Governance issues, Internal Control System assessment, Regulatory Compliance review, Operational Improvement and Monitoring Trustee Services. She has been the project manager in several teams in multinational, listed and non-listed entities. She is applying her experience to the financial sector, with a particular focus on banking and the ESG risks and the opportunities the sector faces. Katerina has lead Grant Thornton's advisory team in several compliance assessment engagements ensuring the proper implementation of European and local regulations to Greek systemic banks. Katerina, among other projects, has been also a member in the monitoring trustee project in one of the four systemic banks in Greece on behalf of European Committee. She is working extensively with multidisciplinary teams and has an extensive track record of achievement in proactively identifying and resolving regulatory and operational risk issues. Katerina holds the ACCA and the CIA professional certifications and a postgraduate title with the Institute of Education of the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece. She is a member of the Economic Chamber of Greece, the Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Greece, the Institute of Internal Auditors and the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants. She also participates in the editorial team of the Financial Sector Insights of Grant Thornton publications.
